The scalable character of the LS41 comes via the LS41 Multiprocessor Expansion 2 Unit (MPE). The LS41 can begin life as a 30-mm two-socket blade server and can be upgraded in the field by simply attaching the multiprocessor expansion unit. The MPE transforms the LS41 into a 60-mm wide multiprocessor server. PRODUCT FEATURES: Two additional processor sockets; Eight additional memory slots; Two additional PCI Express based Gigabit Ethernet Connections; Connector and bay for an additional SAS SFF hard drive; SAS RAID-1 (mirroring) supported in 32-bit legacy mode only; An HT-2000 which provides: 1 GHz HT link between processor and HT-2000; Two 4x PCI-E lanes to the Broadcom 5708S Gigabit Ethernet controller - one 4x lane for each 5708 on the MPE; One PCI-X bus interface to the expansion card connector.
